The
Field of Dreams...
IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME !
...to appear on the Channel Nine Footy Show
Thursday May 5, 2005 @ 9.30pm
Mullumbimby's
'Field of Dreams' lived up to its name as the Footy
Show's film crew and Paul 'the Chief' Harragon
came to visit.
The
Chief listened to all the stories about
the
history of rugby league
in the valley as he worked his
way around
the
members of the Mullumbimby GIANTS RLFC.
The Little
Giants told
the Chief they wanted to play in the
local town competition when they grow up
and win a
grand final like the Big Giants ...
The
Big Giants told the Chief about
the experience of playing in
the
Group 1
grand final in 2004, and the pride they felt
in winning
the
grand final for their
sponsors and families in the valley...
The Grandfather Giants (1960's
Premiers) told the Chief
how
proud they were of the Mullumbimby Leagues
Club
and shared some of the memories of the earlier
days,
when they played
in their grand final in 1960...
The 'God
Father' Giant (Tony Parker) of
the club talked to the Chief about
the 'grassroots'
of rugby
league and the important
role of volunteers who
make up the backbone of the club...
The
Chief quickly summed it all up by saying...

... That's GOLD !
