The historic village of Billinudgel in the beautiful Brunswick Valley is home to the famous MA Ring Billinudgel Hotel. Operating in its current premises since 1906, a visit to this hotel is a unique cultural experience coupled with an historic view of the valley's pioneering days.

Billinudgel has developed over recent years to become a thriving industrial estate with new premises and businesses providing much needed goods and services for the valley.

The historic main street houses vibrant stores which supply all essential items. The main street also provides a gateway to the picturesque farming district of The Pocket.

Byron Shire has a typical local history to the East Coast of NSW.

Starting with timber getting, this area was covered in highly sought after Red Cedar.

These trees were felled and shipped to England for furniture use.

After the “Big Scrub” (our common name for the forest) was removed, on came the
Diary Farmers. This was our major source of income and lifestyle until the last quarter
of the 1900’s.

Our tour takes you through these areas and shows the changes we have today.
